Over time teeth can yellow with age. Some of the worst offenders for this are certain medications, coffee, tea, wine, soda, and fruits like pomegranates, blueberries, and blackberries. These all wreak havoc on the color of your teeth, but thankfully there are options available for whitening your teeth.
- Teeth Bleaching: gums are covered with a protective gel and bleach is applied to the teeth. You will see results instantly. There may be some sensitivity to your teeth after the procedure but this will fade in time. This doesn’t always work depending on the severity of the stain so consult with your dentist first.
- Veneers or Porcelain Crowns. These are usually made out of porcelain and they are fitted over your natural teeth and attached to the surface. These can be used to cover individual teeth that don’t match the rest or you can add them to all of your teeth.
- Cosmetic Bonding: A natural looking white material is applied to your teeth and then it is baked on with heath. This can be used to cover imperfections like discoloration, chipped teeth, cracked teeth, small gaps between teeth, or even imperfectly shaped teeth.
